2. Host Interface
  • KDC100 has two USB ports; an ultra mini USB and a standard type A USB. Ultra mini USB port supports both serial and USB-Serial port. KDC200 / KDC300 have Bluetooth HID/SPP and one USB port which supports serial and USB-Serial port. KDC200i/300i also support "Made for iPhone" Bluetooth profile.

  • What Bluetooth protocol stacks are supported by KDC200 / KDC300
  • KDC200 / KDC300 support all major Bluetooth® stacks such as Toshiba®, Widcomm®, Bluesoleil® and Microsoft®. KDC200 / KDC300 support HID(Human Interface Device) and SPP(Serial Port Profile) Bluetooth profiles. KDC200i/300i support "Made for iPhone" Bluetooth profile too.

3. Battery
  • The battery on the KDC100 / KDC200 / KDC300 can be charged at least 300 times before it needs to be replaced.

  • The KDC100 can scan more than 10,000 barcodes, KDC200 can scan more than 7,500 barcodes with Bluetooth connection, and KDC300 can scan more than 20,000 barcodes with Bluetooth connection. KDC200i and KDC300i would scan less barcodes than KDC200 and KDC300.

  • It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the KDC100 / KDC200 take about 2 hours and KDC300 takes about 4 hours from an empty status to a fully charged status.

  • The KDC100 lasts more than one month in sleep mode. KDC200 / KDC300 last several days with Bluetooth connection. KDC200i/300i last less than KDC200/300.

  • Yes. The KDC100 / KDC200 / KDC300 have separate compartment for battery which can be opened easily with a screw driver. Contact your distributor for a replacement battery.

4. Memory

  • KDC100 / KDC200 / KDC300 have basic 180KB data memory and optional 4MB extended memory. 180KB can store more than 10,000 UPC barcodes and 4MB can store more than 100,000 product database.

  • Can I download stored barcode or wedge barcodes to my application?
  • Yes. KTSync® is keyboard wedging, application generation, DB look up and inventory program bundled with the KDC100/200/300 which supports host devices running on Android®, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, Blackberry®, Windows® XP/Vista/7/Mobile5.0+.

  • Does the KDC100 / KDC200 / KDC300 support Android®, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, Blackberry®, Symbian®, Apple® and Palm® devices?
  • KTSync® supports Android®, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch and Blackberry® currently. Symbian®, Mac® and Palm® would be supported in future.

5. Programming
  • KoamTac’s Application Generation tool provides an enhanced programming environment for developing custom applications for the KDC.

    1. KDC supports, at most, three step data collection processes including the ability to perform various data functionality features.
    2. KDC’s database lookup function provides enhanced data processes enabling the KDC to display database results with or without scanned barcode data.
    3. KDC can display a message from Host enabling two way communications and a messaging application.

  • Yes. Custom applications or projects can be developed by KoamTac engineers. This service is provided for an additional fee to KoamTac. For more information regarding this service, please contact KoamTac.

  • A software development kit for Windows® XP/Vista/7/Mobile5.0+ is available on KoamTac support page. Android®, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch and Blackberry® SDK would be available through KoamTac authorized distributors.
